The Danish Energy Agency has received 27 applications between April and 20 June for offshore wind farms under Denmark’s open-door policy, but has rejected several as they overlap with the state land reservations.
DEA said a large part of the applications are located in area reservations for government tenders.
These are applications in Aalaek Bay, Esbjerg, Falster, Hanstholm, Hirtshals, Stevns, Tonder and Djursland.
The law on the promotion of renewable energy states that applications can not be submitted outside tenders that completely or partially overlap with the state land reservations, the government agency said.
Applications received in these areas must be rejected by the Minister of Climate, Energy and Utilities, it added.
“On that basis, the Danish Energy Agency cancels the authority hearings on the offshore wind farms at Hanstholm, Stevns and Falster,” DEA said.
