Cobra and Flotation Energy have submitted a scoping request to the Planning Inspectorate for offshore generation assets of the 480MW Morecambe Offshore Windfarm in the UK.
The Planning Inspectorate will now consult technical consultees for their views on what is in the report before issuing their Scoping Opinion later this year.
The Scoping Request for the transmission assets will follow, the developers said.
This is expected to be jointly submitted with BP and EnBW, after both parties have agreed to work together on the development of onshore infrastructure for Morecambe and the 1.5GW Morgan offshore wind farm.
Cobra and Flotation said that they currently expect the first round of non-statutory community consultation to start in Autumn 2022.
A final DCO application for the project is then anticipated to be submitted in early 2024.
