WPD Windmanager Technik is to take over Deutsche Windtechnik Umspannwerke to further expand its services around wind turbines, substations and transfer stations.
The mover follows WPD taking over the operational areas and personnel of Oltec Service at the beginning of the year.
WPD managing director Nils Brümmer said: “Over the years, our electrical engineering division has grown continuously.
“With the acquisition of Deutsche Windtechnik Umspannwerke, we are now taking the next step and expand the portfolio of our electrical engineering services – from wind energy or PV systems to transfer stations and substations.”
Deutsche Windtechnik Umspannwerke managing director Frank Lorenzen said: “We have already been working together with the colleagues from WPD Windmanager for years.
“WPD Windmanager has a great electrotechnical expertise in all aspects of wind farms, solar farms and their connection.
“With our substation services, we fit in very well.”
Nine people from Deutsche Windtechnik Umspannwerke will now join WPD, while Lorenzen will be managing director of the new business.
They will be based in Flintbek near Kiel, Germany.
