Navantia is setting up a UK subsidiary focused on offshore wind and shipbuilding sectors.
Navantia UK will rely on partnerships with local industries across the United Kingdom and will be “well placed to work with UK industry to explore the promising opportunities that exist in the offshore energy sector”, it said.
Since 2014, Navantia has taken part in the construction of the East Anglia 1, Hywind Scotland, Moray East and Kincardine offshore wind farms in the United Kingdom, manufacturing both fixed and floating foundations and substations for clients such as EDPR, Scottish Power and Cobra.
Building on this experience, Navantia has recently launched Navantia Seanergies, which was created with the aim of promoting its activity that is focused on offshore wind energy and hydrogen, both nationally and internationally.
The UK is a strategic market for Navantia Seanergies, said the group.
