The German Federal Network Agency BNetzA has awarded 1084MW of solar capacity in the country’s latest auction.
A total of 209 bids with a volume of 1116MW were submitted, with 201 bids successful in the 1 March tender.
Regionally, the largest volume awarded was in Bavaria (488MW, 106 bids), followed by Rhineland-Palatinate (223MW, 19 bids), Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (67MW, 10 bids) and Saarland (66MW, 16 bids).
Most of the bids for arable or grassland areas were located in Bavaria (366MW, 66 bids).
Bids ranged from €40.0 a megawatt-hour to €55.0/MWh, with the average volume-weighted award value in this round is €51.9/MWh.
Germany’s also auctioned 275MW of biomass, attracting 76 bids totalling 81MW.
BNetzA said 56 bids with a volume of 68MW were successful.
The next round of solar tenders will take place on 1 June and 1 September for biomass projects.
