Orsted says that it was not a systemic issue that caused a rotor to separate from the nacelle and fall into the sea earlier this week at the 400MW Anholt offshore wind farm off Denmark.
An Orsted company spokesperson said: “Data from our fleet of turbines and drone inspections of the damaged turbine support the conclusion that this is not a systemic issue.”
The company has therefore lifted no-sail zones at offshore wind farms in Denmark, Germany and the UK that feature Siemens Gamesa 3.6-4MW hardware.
Orsted said that the investigation with Siemens Gamesa into the incident is still ongoing.
The other projects that had been impacted by the no-sail zones were 389MW West of Duddon Sands, 270MW Lincs, 2MW Gunfleet Sands, 90MW Burbo Bank 1 and 367MW Walney 1&2 in the UK, 277MW Borkum Riffgrund 1 in Germany, and 10.8MW Avedore Holme in Denmark.
Anholt was commissioned in 2013 and features 111 Siemens Gamesa 3.6MW turbines.
