OX2 has handed over the 132MW Metsalamminkangas wind farm to Nordic energy companies Lundin Energy and Sval Energi.
Metsalamminkangas comprises 24 GE Cypress 5.5MW turbines and is the third largest wind farm commissioned in Finland.
OX2 and Lundin Energy signed an agreement in January 2020 to construct the project in the municipality of Vaala, North Ostrobothnia.
Sval Energi became a co-owner of the wind farm during its construction phase.
Metsalamminkangas was handed over to the clients on 31 March.
The wind farm’s annual energy production is 400 gigawatt-hours, which corresponds to the annual electricity consumption of more than 80,000 households, OX2 said.
OX2 chief executive Paul Stormoen said: “Finland is the fastest growing market for wind power in Europe and we are proud to hand over the third largest wind farm and our largest completed project in the country.”
OX2 developed and constructed Metsalamminkangas under an engineering, procurement and construction agreement and will remain responsible for the technical and commercial management of the wind farm.
