UK marine and lifting equipment specialist Motive Offshore Group has set up a dedicated renewables hub located in Taipei, Taiwan.
The new hub has been established to support the Taiwanese offshore wind industry and is Motive’s first dedicated renewables facility.
Motive said it is looking to further cement its position within the sector and the Taipei hub outlines its “ongoing commitment to delivering long-term sustainability solutions”.
The new facility has already resulted in the creation of 10 jobs in Taipei, with plans for further recruitment over the coming months to support ongoing growth.

To enhance local trading and investment in the region, Motive has also recently joined forces with two specialist Aberdeen organisations V-TES Renewables PanGeo Subsea, to establish the Subsea Cable Alliance (SCA).
This alliance will “consolidate a complex local trade landscape” through a single partner, resulting in reduced time and costs for logistics and contractual resources while enhancing vessel uptime.
V-TES Renewables general manager Mark Gazey (pictured second from left) said: “We are very proud to be part of the Subsea Cable Alliance and together we offer a complete solution of tailored cable services ready to be deployed and executed through the dedicated local renewable hub.
“V-TES Renewables delivers unsurpassed specialist electrical engineering services to the renewables industry on and offshore.
“Providing high voltage, fibre, switchgear and rope access expertise, competitive holistic solutions will now be provided to our East Asian client base as part of the alliance.”
