Eolos has secured a multi-buoy supply contract to supply Pacifico Energy Korea with wind and metocean site specific measurements for a development in South Korea.
Pacifico Energy Korea has signed a one-year turnkey campaign for the simultaneous deployment of two FLS200 floating Lidar devices with options for a third buoy and extensions to the term.
The contract is being executed with the measuring campaign expected to commence in April 2022.
Eolos sales director Julian Harland said: “The familiarity Eolos has with local project execution procedures and permitting in Korea, attracts a wide base of developers both internationally and regionally.
“Pacifico represents a significant account win for the business.”
The deployments add to Eolos existing fleet operating in Korea and follows successful project completions with the same technology.
Pacifico Energy recently closed an agreement with SSE Renewables for a joint ownership company SSE Pacifico to pursue development of offshore wind projects in Japan.
The floating Lidar supply contract with Eolos is the first of its kind by Pacifico in Korea.
Harland added: “We naturally hope this delivers a positive demonstration of Eolos performance to Pacifico and anticipate it can be a stepping-stone to a collaboration further afield such as their recently announced joint-venture with SSE in Japan.”
