Renewable Parts has supplied a refurbished V52 wind turbine to Everun, the largest refurbished turbine sold by the company to date.
The Vestas manufactured V52 was installed in Northern Ireland in 2021.
Reusing a turbine of this size has helped Everun reduce its carbon footprint by approximately 150 tonnes, compared to if the turbine were to be manufactured new.
Everun, provides renewable asset management services in the UK and Ireland, whose operational assets have already produced over 350,000 megawatt-hours of energy during its 10-year history.
The company is working on initiatives across its operations to reduce its carbon footprint including refurbishment as well as electric car charging solutions.
The refurbished V52 turbine will help the company further its sustainability goals and joins the growing number of turbines generating clean electricity across the UK.
Renewable Parts CEO James Barry said: “Creating more sustainable supply solutions within the wind industry is central to our strategy, and we were delighted to have been chosen by Everun to supply this complex refurbished item.
“This turbine is the first V52 of many that we are planning to supply across the country and is a great achievement for us and Everun.”
Everun managiing director Michael Thompson said: “We are delighted to have worked with Renewable Parts on the supply of this turbine, bringing back into service and extending the life of an existing asset in order to drive higher renewable energy yields.”
