Schroders has confirmed it is advanced talks with Greencoat Capital, about taking a stake in the European renewables infrastructure manager.
Schroders said it “notes recent media speculation” and has confirmed it is in “advanced talks”.
The bank added there is “no certainty” these talks will lead to any final agreement.
Schroders has continued to evaluate potential acquisition opportunities in line with its strategy to build a “comprehensive private assets platform and enhance its leadership position in sustainability”.
The board of Greencoat UK Wind (UKW) said it “notes the announcement” from Schroders regarding the potential acquisition of a stake in Greencoat Capital LLP, the investment manager to UKW.
“The Board confirms that any such potential transaction would relate to Greencoat Capital LLP, not Greencoat UK Wind plc, and is confident that, should any transaction proceed, it would not impact Greencoat Capital’s role as investment manager to UKW, the board stated.
