Nordex Group has secured a turbine order from AES Brasil totalling 370MW for the Cajuina 2 wind farm in the state of Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil.
The deal covers supply and installation of 65 N163/5.X turbines and also includes service for the hardware for an initial period of five years, with several options to extend up to 20 years.
The turbines are due to be installed in summer 2022 and will be supplied in a project-specific operating mode of 5.7MW.
Nordex will be manufacturing hubs, most parts of the nacelles, the 120-metre concrete towers and the rotor blades in Brazil.
Cajuina 2 is part of the Cajuina wind complex in the municipality of Lajes, where constant average wind speeds of approximately 9.5 metres a second give the site a high capacity factor, Nordex said.
The latest contract follows a 314MW turbine order with AES Brasil for Cajuina 1 in June.
