Energi Coast, North East England’s offshore wind cluster, has launched a new supply chain directory.
The online North East England’s Offshore Wind Supply Chain Directory features more than 250 companies and organisations from the region that provide products, services and innovation to the sector.
Developed with the full support of developers and tier one contractors for Dogger Bank Wind Farm and Sofia Offshore Wind Farm including Equinor, SSE, RWE, GE and Van Oord, the directory provides their project teams with access to a dedicated resource containing regional suppliers for regional projects.
The searchable directory highlights the broad variety of expertise across the full offshore wind project lifecycle and key supply chain categories including areas such as balance of plant, turbines, installation and operation, maintenance and service.
Of the estimated 400 companies in the region that either operate in or have ambitions to operate in the offshore wind sector, more than half are already featured in the directory, with more North East England suppliers expected to join following its launch during UK Wind Week, hosted by RenewableUK.
Tony Quinn, chair of Energi Coast, said: “North East England’s supply chain cluster is one of the most mature in the industry with a number of companies involved in the sector since its inception.
“As a result, there is a wealth of expertise and experience the industry can call upon.”
