Vensys has received an order for its gearless turbines for a 65MW wind project in Japan from CEF, marking its entry into the Japanese market.
The German manufacturer will deliver 16 4.1MW gearless turbines with hub heights of 72 metres for the Tsuyama project, which is due to become operational in the second quarter of 2024.
The company has also signed a long-term service agreement with CEF for the Tsuyama project, which is located in Tsuyama-shi, in the Okayaja Prefecture.
Vensys turbines account for 60GW of output connected to the grid worldwide.
As part of its entry into the Japanese market Vensys opened an office in the country in 2020.
Vensys chief executive Jurgen Rinck said: “We would like to thank CEF for their trust in our know-how and look forward to working closely with CEF in the future.
“Entering the Japanese market with CEF as a new customer at our side will enable us to open the door to implementing potential new projects in Japan.”
