Fugro Norway has won a contract from Danish transmission system operator Energinet to carry out data measurements using floating lidar for the planned energy islands in the North and Baltic Seas.
The deal is divided into two lots covering oceanographic and atmospheric measurements in each of the two areas.

The contract is valued at €2,570,400.
Denmark is planning to build at artificial energy island in the North Sea with an initial capacity of 3GW by 2030, with plans to scale eventually up to 10GW.
In the Baltic Sea, an energy island is planned to be built on the existing island of Bornholm with a capacity of 2GW by 2030.
