Polska Grupa Energetyczna (PGE) and Orsted have launched a tender seeking turbines for the 2500MW Baltica 2 and 3 offshore wind farms off Poland.
The duo said that potential suppliers that have fulfilled the formal requirements and submitted a declaration of willingness to participate in the tender under the pre-qualification process will be invited to submit binding bids.
Orsted director of development for Baltica Soren Westergaard Jensen said: “We are entering an intense period of purchases for the largest offshore wind farm in the Polish part of the Baltic Sea. We will launch procurement procedures in 2021 and 2022.”
PGE management board president Wojciech Dabrowski said: “The launch of the tender for wind turbine generators is another very important step in the investment schedule.
“Together with Orsted, we are preparing for tenders for further project components.
“Parallel to the procurement process, work is underway on other elements of the investment, and we are actively engaged in dialogue with key entities, including potential service and installation ports.”
The 1045MW Baltica 3 is planned to be commissioned in 2026, with 1500MW Baltica 2 following in 2027.
