The Danish Energy Agency (DEA) has released an updated guide for the rules on the grid connection of renewable energy plants.
DEA said the guidance covers several forms of clean power, including wind turbines, solar cells, hydropower and wave power.
It said: “With the updated guidance, the Danish Energy Agency wishes to clarify that the connection point referred to in the Executive Order on grid connection is identical to the grid connection point in Commission Regulation (EU) 2016/631 of 14 April 2016 laying down grid rules on grid connection requirements for production facilities (RfG Regulation).”
DEA said that for grid connection agreements entered into after 5 July 2021, it will only accept connection points that are identical to the grid connection point in the RfG Regulation and that meet the related requirements.
“At the same time, however, this means that network connection agreements entered into on 5 July 2021 or earlier may, depending on the circumstances, use other types of connection points, also called virtual connection points, as long as the network connection is in accordance with the RfG Regulation,” it said.
DEA said that network and transmission companies ensure that the RfG regulation is complied with, plant owners must also ensure compliance with requirements pursuant to the RfG regulation.
