Renewables developer RES has launched a brand-new podcast focusing on issues facing the energy industry.
Former deputy chief executive of Renewable UK Maf Smith will host the podcast.
Each episode Smith “unpacks a big issue” facing the industry, before being joined by two guests from different corners of the renewables community.
RES has enlisted the help of renewables experts across the world, including guests from Microsoft, ORE Catapult and Mainstream Renewable Power in its opening episodes.
The six episodes of the first series will focus on issues including the pandemic and its impact on net-zero commitments, green investment trends, the rise of hydrogen, and the increasing role AI is playing across the industry.
Rachel Ruffle, CEO Northern Europe at RES, said: “We’re very excited to launch our first ever podcast which brings together people from across the renewables industry to discuss the opportunities and issues we’re all facing.
“We know that greater investment, innovation and public-private collaboration is needed to accelerate the transition to a sustainable, secure and affordable green energy system.
“It’s our hope that the podcast can be a useful platform to stimulate discussion and put forward new ideas to accelerate the actions of our industry to reduce global emissions and reach our net-zero targets.”
The first episode is now live on all popular streaming platforms, with more episodes to follow.
