Marine renewables consultancy Innosea is expanding its service offering in the Mediterranean by setting up an office in Marseille, France.
The new office will support Innosea’s existing portfolio of offshore wind and floating solar projects in the south-east region.
It will also support the French Mediterranean’s growing portfolio in marine renewable projects and other carbon-reducing and energy transition initiatives in both energy and maritime sectors.
Innosea provides a range of specialised engineering, design, analysis and R&D services to support the development of offshore and floating wind, floating solar photovoltaics, wave energy, tidal energy, and hydrogen power projects.
Innosea managing director Hakim Mouslim said: “We are excited to grow the Innosea footprint to France’s 2nd largest city, and not to mention one of the country’s major maritime hubs – Marseille.
“This move represents Innosea’s commitment to growing where we are needed in the marine renewable space.
“The nearby Alps will be home to France’s largest floating solar PV plant, and there is a planned 1.5GW of floating wind power to be developed in the Mediterranean offshore France, Italy and Spain.”
The Marseille operation adds to Innosea’s existing office footprint in Nantes, France, and in Edinburgh, Scotland.
The new office will be run by Benoit Briere, senior project manager at Innosea, which is part of Oslo-listed AqualisBraemar LOC ASA.
“This office will also represent a base for the wider group – including OWC, AqualisBraemar LOC, Longitude and East Point Geo – to offer their energy and marine consulting services to support the wide array of renewables and maritime energy projects in the French Mediterranean region,” said Briere.
