EnBW has been granted permission by the Stendal District Office to repower the Dusedau wind farm in Germany.
Dusedau, which is located about five kilometres southeast of the Hanseatic city of Osterburg in the district of Stendal, will feature four Vestas V150 5.6MW turbines.
The new turbines, which will have hub heights of 166 metres and total heights of around 244 metres, will replace the five existing NEG Micon NM72/1500 machines.
Commissioning is scheduled for the first quarter of 2023.
The old turbines will be decommissioned and completely removed before the new units are put into operation.
Project manager Tim Wollmach said: “We are pleased to be able to build more powerful wind turbines in Düsedau’s municipal area.
“There is great potential for repowering in wind farms in Germany, as the technology has developed significantly since the construction of the first wind turbines here almost 20 years ago.”
