The German Federal Network Agency BNetzA has awarded 691MW of onshore wind capacity in the country’s latest auction, out of 1500MW on offer.
BNetzA received 91 bids totalling 718MW, with 89 successful and two excluded.
Bid prices ranged from €51.5 a megawatt-hour (MWh) to €60/MWh, with the volume-weighted average €60/MWh, the agency said.
Twenty projects with a combined capacity of 173MW were awarded in the Schleswig-Holstein region, 20 in North Rhine-Westphalia totalling 116MW and 18 in Brandenburg adding up to 165MW.
BNetzA also awarded 620MW of solar capacity, with 288 bids submitted totalling over 1.5GW. A total of 617MW was available.
Bid prices ranged from €46.9/MWh to €51.8/MWh, with the volume-weighted average at €50.3/MWh.
Forty-two of the bids awarded were for projects on arable and grass land, with 36 on such land in Bavaria.
Only six bids had to be excluded from the proceedings, BNetzA said.
The agency also held an innovation auction for plants that combine technologies.
BNetzA received 43 bids totalling 509MW for the 250MW of capacity on offer.
Only bids for solar with energy storage were received, it said.
Eighteen bids were successful totalling 258MW.
Fixed market premiums ranged from €33.3/MWh to €48.8/MWh
Unlike a standard tender, this support is added to market revenues, so that the values are not comparable with the values of the solar and onshore wind tenders, BNetzA said.
