Vestas has secured a 56MW order for the Banie lV project from Energix, the majority owner of the Polish wind farm.
The contract includes supply, installation and commissioning of 16 V126-3.45MW wind turbines with an operational mode of 3.5MW combined with a 20-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement.
The project, located in Banie in Western Pomerania, Poland, adds to the approximately 2.5GW of onshore wind turbines currently installed by Vestas in Poland.
Vestas has also secured a further 1.2GW of orders to be installed.
Energix chief executive Asa Levinger said: “Based on our previous experience with Vestas, we highly value the product quality and reliability of Vestas’ V126 turbine variant and Vestas’ track record for on-time installations.
“We are pleased to further strengthen our relationship with Vestas as part of the and potentially for other projects of the Energix Group, in Poland and in other places.”
Vestas northern and Central Europe president Nils de Baar said: “Vestas has been present in Poland since 2002.
“We are here to stay to support our customers and contribute to the clean energy transition in one of Europe’s largest onshore wind markets.
“I am particularly pleased to take this next step with our valued partner Energix.”
The project will feature a VestasOnline Business SCADA solution, lowering turbine downtime and thus optimising the energy output.
Delivery of the turbines and commissioning are both expected to begin in the first quarter of 2022.
