Siemens Gamesa starts French factory hiring

Siemens Gamesa has announced 210 new jobs at its future offshore wind turbine factory in Le Havre, France.

It has signed a partnership agreement with Pôle emploi Normandie establishing its Simulation-Based Recruitment Method (SRM) as one of the hiring tools for the project.

The 210 positions relate to wind turbine blade and nacelle production including blade operators, logistics operators, quality controllers and supply chain specialists.

Siemens Gamesa is developing in Le Havre the largest industrial project dedicated to renewable energies in France.

The turbine manufacturer is pursuing its project in line with the commitments made as part of its industrial project dedicated to the production of offshore wind turbines in Le Havre.

President of Siemens Gamesa France president Filippo Cimitan said: “Giving life to the largest industrial project in the history of renewable energies in France during a health crisis is a huge challenge.

“The recruitment and training of the 750 direct and indirect jobs for our project within the current constraints is one of its most striking aspects.

“The participation of all the actors of the territory, the local authorities and the State is more necessary and strategic to concretise in the long term the immense potential that this industrial plan represents for our country.”

Pôle emploi Normandie deputy regional director, Laurence Charles said: “Pôle emploi Normandie has been working closely with Siemens Gamesa for nearly two years to work together to find solutions to the recruitment needs of the future factory.

“All our advisers are mobilized and ready to offer our services, whether it be our company advisers via the Simulation Recruitment Method, our psychologists via assessment interviews or our employment advisers to prepare the candidates who, for the most part, will be able to apply, without a CV or pre-requisites, by being subjected to tests.”

This first phase will be followed by several others throughout 2021 and 2022.
