BayWa RE has sold four wind farms totalling 53MW in Germany to Encavis Infrastructure Fund 2.
All wind farms are operational, with the last of the four projects going online in May 2020.
BayWa RE Wind managing director Rainer Heyduck said: “After many years of intensive project development, in summer – despite the restrictions caused by Covid-19 – we connected the last of these four wind farms to the grid.
“In view of the challenging conditions for realising new wind energy projects in Germany, we are very happy about this success.
“With the sale that has now taken place, we are continuing our long-term, trusting collaboration with Encavis.”
The assets are the 15MW Haltern-Sythen in North Rhine-Westphalia, which features Nordex N131 turbines, the 12MW Finkenbach-Gersweiler in Rhineland-Palatinate, which uses Enercon E115 turbines, the 17MW Bedesbach, also in Rhineland-Palatinate, featuring Vestas V126 and V136 machines and the 9MW Bruchwald in Saarland, featuring Nordex N131 units.
The fund’s investment advisor is part of Encavis.
Karsten Mieth, spokesman of the chairman of Encavis Asset Management, said: “After the purchase of seven Dutch solar parks in the spring, this is already the second deal with BayWa RE within a year that shows the strong partnership between our two companies.”
