Spanish developer of a self-erecting wind turbine tower Nabrawind has entered into a joint venture with Tetrace and Comansa to supply its technology.
The new company, called Navassy, will operate globally and immediately start the manufacturing of the first self-erecting units.
Navassy will also be responsible for the installation process of the Nabralift self-erecting system as well as its manufacture.
The partners will provide Navassy with the necessary know-how and investment for the design, manufacture and operation of the self-erecting system. Consequently,
Navassy will become Nabrawind’s supplier and immediately start operating to fulfill Nabralift’s order intake.
Comansa will be responsible for the supply of the self-erecting equipment, combining its extensive know-how in lifting systems with the new technology patented by Nabrawind.
Tetrace will act as field assembly’s main subcontractor, “optimising this process in a highly competitive market”.
The self-erecting system to be developed by Navassy, called SES 2.0 has resulted in reduced time and costs associated with field assembly, compared with Nabrawind’s prototype.
Installation has been reduced to three days, while the transfer from one position to another within the wind farm can be done in just one day.
The lifting of the SES 2.0 has been improved and it is now capable of integrating two modules per day.
The lifting of a tower between 160 and 170 metres hub height will be completed in only three days.
