Naval Energies floating solution for offshore wind turbines has been accorded the ‘Solar Impulse Efficient Solution’ label following an assessment performed by external independent experts and based on verified standards.
Therefore the solution is joining the ‘#1000solutions challenge’, an initiative set up by the Solar Impulse Foundation to select projects that meet high standards in profitability and sustainability and present them to decision-makers to fast-track implementation.
Projects selected by the Solar Impulse Efficient Solutions label contribute to the achievement of some of the Sustainable Development Goals adopted by the UN General Assembly with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, Naval Energies said.
It said that the technology convinced a panel of experts who highlighted the robustness and expertise.
The assessment included five criteria covering the areas of feasibility, environmental and profitability.
The aim of this initiative is to encourage the adoption of more ambitious environmental targets and fast-track the implementation of these solutions on a large scale, Naval Energies said.
Naval Energies chief executive Laurent Schneider-Maunoury said: “The certification of Solar Impulse is further proof of the high level achieved by our technology.
“It also confirms that our floating solutions combine environmental protection and financial viability: the two pillars for virtuous growth.
“We are very proud to join the selective group of profitable and sustainable solutions of tomorrow.”
