The first foundation has been installed at Orsted’s 1400MW Hornsea 2 offshore wind farm off the east coast of England.
A total of 165 monopiles and transition pieces will be installed at the project to support the 8.4MW Siemens Gamesa turbines.

Foundation installation is being carried out by DEME Offshore jack-up Innovation.
EEW Special Pipe Constructions is delivering the monopiles, with Bladt Industries providing 135 transition pieces and EEW OSB’s factory in Teesside supplying the remaining 30.
Hornsea 2 is due online in 2022.
