UAE-based fabrication yard Lamprell has loaded out the last of 47 jackets it has produced for Ocean Winds’ 950MW Moray East project off Scotland.
A final ten bases were loaded onto a heavy lift vessel from Offshore Heavy Transport in Dubai recently, according to the projects foundation’s EPCI contractor DEME Offshore.
The units will be taken to the port of Nigg in Scotland ahead of their installation in the Moray Firth.
Lamprell has completed 45 three legged bases for the project’s 100 MHI Vestas 9.5MW turbines and a further 3 jackets for the projects Siemens OTM platforms.
The last of three offshore substation platforms were installed at the project recently. Smulders is still completing work on its 55 turbine foundations for the project from yards in Belgium and Newcastle.
“Managing to perform the seamless installation of the third offshore substation and keeping foundation production firmly on schedule are both something we can be proud of given the unprecedented challenges we have faced,” said DEME general manager Bart De Poorter.
“This is only possible by meticulous management, thorough preparations and by working closely with our customer and partners,” he added.
