The 83MW Medelby wind farm has extended its maintenance contract with Siemens Gamesa by five years.
The company will service the 24 Senvion 3.2MW wind turbines and three Senvion MM92 turbines, for 20 years.
The original service contract with Senvion was for 15 years.
Siemens Gamesa acquired Senvion’s onshore service activities in January 2020.
Siemens Gamesa will also equip all the turbines with “smart” aviation lighting.
This type of automated lighting is required under the new EnSaG act.
The technology enables the lights on the turbines to be switched on only when an aircraft approaches the wind farm at night.
The Senvion turbine control centre, in Osterronfeld which is now owned by Siemens Gamesa, will continue to monitor the wind farm.
Medelby wind farm managing director Marcus Hartmund said: “After the insolvency of Senvion, it is good to be able to continue our service contract with a proven team on site and a strong partner in the background and also to prepare our systems for needs-based night-time marking.”
