MingYang Smart Energy has appointed Wei Chen as the general manager of the Chinese company’s European business and engineering centre in Hamburg, Germany.
Prior to MingYang, Chen was a senior engineer and project manager at DNV GL renewables certification for more than eight years.
The company said: “With his experience, commitment and extensive accomplishments during his career, we look forward to the many contributions he will bring to MingYang and shape our global strategies.
“What’s more, aiming to deepen cooperation with partners in Europe and provide better service, we are looking forward to a rapid expansion of the Hamburg team in the near future.”
Chen finished his PhD degree in electrical engineering at the University Duisburg-Essen, Germany in 2011.
A part of his research work was related to advanced control system of large scale offshore wind turbines.
