Consultancy RPS has secured a deal to lead key environmental and habitats studies for SSE Renewables’ 4100MW Berwick and Marr Bank offshore wind projects off Scotland.
The company will carry out an Environmental Impact Assessment and shadow Habitat Regulation Appraisal.
The work will inform consent applications for both wind farms and will be undertaken by RPS’s in-house technical specialists.
Project consent team manager Louise Davis said: “We are pleased to have RPS on board as lead EIA and HRA consultants. They bring a wealth of experience to this key discipline for the development of the Berwick Bank and Marr Bank projects and we look forward to working with them.”
EIA and HRA director Emily King added: “Having provided post consent support services to both Seagreen Alpha and Bravo, it’s really exciting to be leading the EIA and HRA for both Berwick Bank and Marr Bank.”
Berwick and Marr Bank, formerly the Seagreen 2 and 3 projects, have capacities of up to 2.3GW and 1.85GW, respectively.
