Octopus Renewables has appointed offshore wind energy specialist Partha Vasudev as investment director.
Vasudev joins from Macquarie’s Green Investment Group (GIG), where he was responsible for fundraising, investing and managing its £1.1bn offshore wind fund.
He will now lead the development and implementation of Octopus’ offshore wind investment strategy.
Octopus Renewables co-head Mark Setchell said: “Having firmly established ourselves as leaders in onshore wind and solar technologies we are now looking at growing our offshore wind offering.
“Ultimately, our mission is to unblock vital investment into renewables and the addition of offshore wind means we can increase the diversification on offer to our investors.”
Vasudev, who has also worked for Goldman Sachs, Hudson Clean Energy Partners, Centrica and Oliver Wyman, added: “It’s an exciting time to join the team, which continues to grow rapidly, and at such a crucial juncture as we accelerate the transition to a renewable future.”
Octopus Renewables invests in solar and onshore wind projects Europe, managing more than £3bn in renewable energy assets.
