LOC Group has been awarded a marine warranty survey contract for the cables at the 900MW Greater Changhua 1 and 2a offshore wind project off Taiwan.
The contract, awarded by developer Orsted, covers marine warranty services for the transportation and installation of 95 inter-array cables and 16 platform connector cables.
The cables will be made in South Korea and transported to Taiwan.
Greater Changhua 1 and 2a offshore wind farms will be located 35-60 km off the coast of Changhua county.
LOC’s London-based renewables team will undertake technical document review and operational approvals, with support from LOC’s Singapore and Seoul offices, under project director Mike McLachlan.
Site attendances will be resourced by LOC’s Taiwan office, which opened for business last month.
LOC renewables project director Tim Camp said: “We are delighted to support this significant project, which reflects LOC’s strength and expertise in renewables and the region.
“It is also a milestone for Taiwan and an indication of the significant progress that Taiwan is making in the development of offshore renewables.”
He added: “We are looking forward to supporting this project and to contributing to its successful completion.”
