UK subsea services company Rovco has been awarded a contract by CWind for work on the 714MW East Anglia 1 offshore wind farm off the east coast of England.
Rovco, managed by CWind, will carry out an inspection and survey campaign on all subsea structures, to provide information for the maintenance of turbine and substation foundations.
The multi-million-pound contract will utilise a combined DPII and crew transfer vessel solution, alongside a work class remote operated vehicle, Rovco said.
Rovco chief executive and founder Brian Allen said: “This multi-year framework is further proof that we are leading the way in providing modern services to the offshore energy industry.
“Being awarded a project of this size and scale by CWind is a testament to our hard work and dedication to technology creation and delivery.
“Rovco is focused on providing operational excellence to the offshore wind industry, using marine robotics to increase the quality of work.
“Together with CWind, we bring unique efficiencies to the way offshore projects can be completed.”
CWind is contracted to manage below water services – including subsea and corrective maintenance, surveys and pre-engineering studies – at EA1 by the owners ScottishPower Renewables and Macquarie’s Green Investment Group.
EA1 comprises 102 Siemens Gamesa 7MW turbines and delivered first power to the UK grid in early September 2019.
It is expected to be fully commissioned later this year.
