German wind industry group WAB has postponed its annual WINDFORCE conference due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The event, which was due to take place 12-13 May, is now scheduled for 3-4 September in the same venue in Bremerhaven.
“The health and safety of everyone involved is, of course, our number one priority. As usual, our annual WINDFORCE Conference should be a win for all participants – and no risk. In view of this, we have decided to postpone the event,” said WAB managing director Heike Winkler.
“We hope that the new date matches the timetable of as many friends of the WINDFORCE Conference as possible,” she added.
COVID-19 presents the wind industry with a “gigantic challenge”, added Winkler.
“Unfortunately, in Germany it cannot rely on a stable and long-term perspective in its home market. Together we will remind policymakers that the current exceptional situation must not prevent them from consistently pursuing their long-term goals for climate protection, ie for the expansion of wind and the production of ‘green’ hydrogen,” she said.
