US offshore wind and fisheries liason group the Responsible Offshore Science Alliance (ROSA) has appointed Lyndie Hice-Dunton as executive director.
Hice-Dunton will lead the group’s research into the interaction between fisheries and offshore wind farms.
“We are so enthusiastic for Lyndie’s leadership of ROSA and look forward to working collaboratively with the Fishing Industry, Offshore Wind Developers, the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration,” said Peter Hughes, co-chair of ROSA’s Board of Directors.
ROSA is a partnership of US fishers and offshore wind leaders formed in 2019.
Hice-Dunton has over a decade’s experience in fisheries science and environmental policy and holds a Doctorate in Marine and Atmospheric Sciences.
“I am honored to have this opportunity to work with all of our partners to build ROSA and work towards improving our understanding of the interaction between fisheries and offshore development,” she said.
“ROSA provides a unique opportunity to expand our regional coordination on these issues during this period of rapid change within both industries.”
