Consultancy Promontory is to provide project based contracts and commercial management for the 640MW Yunlin offshore wind farm off Taiwan.
No details were disclosed on which company hired Promontory, which said the work would be for “one of the global leaders in the construction of offshore wind”.
It added: “We are proud to be supporting this marvellous industry and pleased to put our expertise to work in the field, to help make this project another major success for our client.”
Yunlin is currently owned by German company WPD (73%) and 27% by a Sojitz Corporation-led consortium, which also includes Chugoku Electric Power, Chudenko Corporation, Shikoku Electric Power and JXTG Nippon Oil & Energy Corporation.
A subsidiary of Thai outfit Electricity Generating Public Company called Greenwind Energy is in the process of acquiring a 25% stake in the project in a deal expected to close in the first quarter of this year.
Yunlin will feature 80 Siemens Gamesa 8MW turbines and is expected to come online by the end of next year.
