Spanish developer EDP Renewables has secured a power purchase agreement (PPA) for the output generated by its under-development 96MW Catanduba wind farm in Brazil.
The wind farm located in the state of Rio Grande do Norte is slated to start operations in 2024.
The offtaker for the 16-year PPA with EDPR subsidiary EDP Renovaveis Brasil was undisclosed.
EDPR said it has 1.1GW of wind and solar energy projects in Brazil due to be operational between 2021 and 2024, all with long-term PPAs secured.
“With this outcome, EDPR’s portfolio in Brazil is set to reach 1.5GW by 2024, reinforcing EDPR presence in a market with a low risk profile through the establishment of long-term PPAs, attractive wind resource and solid prospects for the renewables sector in the medium and long term,” it added.
