German developer PNE Group has completed the Neuenwalde and Kittlitz 3 wind farms in Germany.
The projects comprise eight turbines with a total capacity of 27.9MW.
The 7.2MW Neuenwalde is located at Cuxhaven in Lower Saxony, while 20.7MW Kittlitz 3 is in the Oberspreewald-Lausitz district of Brandenburg.
Neuenwalde is made up of two Nordex N117 machines with a total height of approximately 149 metres.
Kittlitz 3 features three Vestas V126 and three V136 machines.
It is an extension to a wind farm that was built in two phases in previous years, PNE said.
The company’s subsidiary WKN used previous knowledge of the site, which is a former open-cast mine, during construction.
PNE operates seven of the turbines, while one of the Kittlitz 3 units was previously sold and installed for an unnamed customer.
PNE chief executive Markus Lesser said: “With these wind farms, we are making a further contribution to the energy revolution and climate protection. We have thus also further expanded our own wind farm portfolio by 24.4MW.”
