WAB, the wind energy association for the north-west region of Germany, has named Heike Winkler as its managing director, effective since 1 November.
She has been acting MD since June, and was previously director of corporate communications.
WAB chief executive Irina Lucke said: “We are very grateful to Heike Winkler for taking over the management of WAB at an early stage in the early summer and are pleased that we have been able to win her over the long term for this task.
“Her many years of experience in the wind industry make her an ideal choice as WAB managing director.”
Winkler said: “The aim of my work is to support the value chain of the wind industry in their interests.
“The innovative wind industry in all its facets offers great industrial policy opportunities.”
WAB has also added Hans-Dieter Sohn to its team.
He will be supporting the wind industry association from mid-November as senior communications and marketing manager.
