Boskalis and local partner Hwa Chi Construction have been awarded the foundation scope for the 600MW Changfang and Xidao (CFXD) Taiwanese offshore wind farm.
The project includes the transportation and installation of 62 three-legged jacket foundations and the accompanying 186 pin piles.
The contract is subject to financial close of the project by its developer, Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners later this year.
Boskalis and Hwa Chi will execute the foundation scope project as Boskalis HwaChi Offshore Wind Taiwan (BoWei), in line with the local content requirement policy for Taiwanese offshore wind projects.
BoWei will subcontract work to local suppliers, including the sourcing of support vessels, local engineering and logistic services.
CFXD is located approximately 15 km off the coast of Changhua County.
Engineering and pre-construction works commenced recently and the project is scheduled to be executed in the period 2021-2023.
Boskalis will also deploy its new Bokalift 2 crane vessel at CFXD.
The DP2 vessel with accommodation for 150 people has 7500 square metres of free deck space and a 4000 tonne revolving crane capable of lifting structures more than 100 metres high.
