Innogy has submitted a foreshore lease application to the Irish government to undertake further surveys of the seabed and to install buoy mounted equipment to provide data on weather and sea conditions for the up 1GW Dublin Array offshore wind farm off Ireland.
The information collected will be used to progress the engineering design and to inform the ongoing environmental assessments required as part of the consent process.

Innogy said consent of the licence will enable it to undertake further site investigations and data collection.
It added that a planning application for the project is expected to be submitted in 2021.
Innogy is developing the project in partnership with Saorgus Energy, with the former leading development of Dublin Array.
