Czech energy company CEZ has launched a divestment process in Romania to sell assets and companies that include the country’s largest wind farm, the 600MW Fantanele-Cogealac.
CEZ is considering selling seven companies in Romania, keeping only those engaged in energy services activities and part of trading, as part of its new strategy.
Investors can express their interest both for the entire bulk, but also for individual companies.
Societe Generale will be in charge of market testing interest in the transactions.
In addition to Fantanele-Cogealac, the group’s Resita hydroelectric system, consisting of four dam reservoirs and four small hydroelectric power stations, totalling 22MW, will also be sold as part of the companies being divested.
CEZ’s strategy will also involve gradual sales of assets in Bulgaria, Turkey and partly also in Poland, with the exception of companies focused on the field of modern energy services, which CEZ wants to develop further both at home and abroad.
