Enercon-owned direct marketing company Quadra Energy has signed a green off-take deal with Greenpeace Energy for power from 50MW of wind turbines.
The unspecified units, which will be out of support from 2021, will supply around 60 gigawatt-hours, 13% of the buyer’s total energy purchased.
“The cooperation between our two companies enables operators and owners of existing WECs to continue operating them profitably,” said Quadra managing director Holger Clever.
The company and its parent have developed a specially adapted green power purchase and service agreement for projects that leave support in Germany.
The German manufacturer has meanwhile opened a new customer training centre in Lichtenau, North Rhine-Westphalia.
The facility features an E-115 nacelle as well as an E-126 EP3 machine house on a 17-metre tower.
“The new customer training centre is another important element of our global training concept,” said Volker Kendziorra, Enercon Germany service managing director.
“In Lichtenau, as well as offering standardised training courses from our catalogue, we also give every customer the chance to put together their own training courses so that they can carry out work on Enercon wind energy converters in the best and safest way possible.”
