The nacelle has been installed on GE’s 12MW Haliade-X offshore wind turbine prototype at Maasvlakte, Rotterdam, in the Netherlands.
Work on the tower started in July, with turbine installation expected to be completed later this summer.

Testing will start once the prototype is installed, with initial operations seeing data collected that is needed to obtain type certification.
Type certification is an important step ahead of serial production of the hardware in 2021.
