Turbine diagnostics specialist Fos4X has had its maintenance-free structural monitoring system recertified by DNV GL.
Fos4X’s ‘turbine integrity control’ technology enables damage to rotor blades of wind turbines to be detected at an early stage and is based on the same hardware configuration as the German company’s ‘rotor ice control’ system, also certified by DNV GL.
For customers of the Fos4X ice detection system the additional features for damage detection can be activated via a software upgrade.
Via a dashboard, data on the performance and condition of the wind turbine can be viewed at any time in real time.
The Fos4X core technology enables reliable operation in harsh environments and the maintenance-free hardware configuration can be retrofitted in less than one working day.
The system can also be ordered directly with the wind turbine as a series product.
Fos4X GmbH has commercialised a reliable, fibreoptic measurement and sensor technology to optimise wind turbine performance.
