Solar outfit Conergy has rebranded to Blueleaf Energy to reflect its growing growing focus on solar asset ownership and operations in Asia.
The rebranding is intended to reflect the company’s extension into new solar business models and activity in addition to its role as engineering, procurement and construction contractor.
Over its 20-year history, Blueleaf Energy has installed almost 2GW of capacity globally and has developed, built and currently operates approximately 500MW of solar capacity in the Asia Pacific.
The company specialises in the development, finance, delivery and operations of photovoltaic power plants for both commercial and industrial solar rooftops and utility-scale solar power systems.
The name, ‘Blueleaf Energy’, was selected to represent the colour of a solar cell and the process of photosynthesis where sunlight is harnessed into another form of energy to sustain plant life.
Company chief executive Marc Lohoff said: “We will continue to build upon our global experience in development, finance, delivery and operations and maintenance but we are now capable of so much more.
“As an operator and owner of solar energy systems, we are transforming the commercial and industrial solar rooftop landscape in Asia with a new and innovative approach, combining a strong balance sheet with best in class operations experience and value engineering, making it more affordable than ever to go solar.”
According to Lohoff the company’s activities and business models now span traditional grid-connected solar, energy storage, floating solar and solar rooftop systems.
“We are not merely rebranding our company, changing our name and taking on a new look. We have fundamentally changed the way we do business,” he added.
