NKT has confirmed an order for approximately 150 kilometres of DC onshore power cables for the Viking Link interconnector project.
The Danish-based holding company received the award by Energinet and National Grid to supply the cable system for the wider project, which will connect the Danish and British power transmission grids.

NKT and the project owners have now signed the final contract documents for the project.
The order represents a contract value of approximately €90m which corresponds to approximately €75m in standard metal prices.
Production of the power cables is expected to start in 2020.
