Canadian Solar has signed operations and maintenance (O&M) agreements for three photovoltaic plants in Australia totalling 300MW.
The agreements are with the owners of the Gannawarra, Hayman and Daydream solar farms.
The 60MW Gannawarra PV plant (pictured) near Kerang in western Victoria, is co-owned by Wirsol and Edify Energy. The project, which is also located with an energy storage system, is the first large-scale solar farm in Victoria.
The Hayman and Daydream PV plants are located in Collinsville of Northern Queensland with a combined capacity of 240MW.
Edify Energy developed the projects and co-owns them with Blackrock.
Canadian Solar will be responsible for plant monitoring, performance management and preventative and corrective maintenance for all three facilities.
These agreements bring Canadian Solar’s O&M portfolio in Australia to over 875MW.
Edify Energy chief executive John Cole said: “We are excited to be working with Canadian Solar as our O&M contractor on five power stations – four solar farms and an energy storage system – for which we have an ownership stake and are asset manager.
“Working with Canadian Solar will ensure a continued source of efficient, innovative and reliable renewable energy. We continue to lead the charge towards a smarter and cleaner energy supply for Australia.”
Canadian Solar chief executive Shawn Qu added: “We are delighted to be selected by Wirsol and Edify Energy to provide O&M services to the three solar farms to minimise downtime and increase site availability.”
