Seajacks has won a contract with Orsted to transport and install turbines at the 900MW Greater Changhua 1&2a offshore wind farm in Taiwan.
The UK vessel operator will put in 111 Siemens Gamesa 8MW turbines some 35-50km off Changhua County.
Jack-up Scylla will tackle the work. A timetable was not disclosed, although the majority of other offshore operations at the site are to take place in 2021 and 2022.
Seajacks chief operations officer Sebastian Brooke said: “We are extremely pleased to enter into this contract with Orsted Taiwan.
“Seajacks has developed an effective and cooperative working relationship with Orsted over the past ten years, and we are looking forward to delivering this technically challenging project efficiently and safely.”
He added: “This contract is an important milestone for Seajacks and cements our commitment to Taiwan and the Asia Pacific region.”
